What a soakage
pit does.
A soakage pit takes the water that leaves a septic tank and lets it soak into the ground through the holes in the rings. The rings stand one on another in the pit, with a cover slab on top.
How we build septic tanks

The holes are formed in the mould as the ring is cast, not drilled afterwards, so the wall around each hole stays sound.

The mould
Two steel shells with holes through both. The pins that form the ring's holes go through them.

Wire, then concrete
Reinforcing wire goes into the gap between the shells, then the concrete, around the pins.

Stacked high
When the pins and shells come away, the holes are left clean. The finished rings cure in the yard, stacked many high.
Delivered and
lowered into place.
Our own lorry carries a hydraulic crane. It lifts each ring off the back and lowers it straight into the pit or onto the ring below, so you don't need to hire a crane or find people to move them. We deliver across Sri Lanka. Tell us the town when you ask for a price and delivery will be included.
Common questions.
What is a soakage pit?
The pit that takes the water from the septic tank and lets it soak into the ground. We build it from perforated rings, which have rows of holes through the wall.
What sizes of soakage ring do you make?
Three widths, measured inside the ring: 40″, 48″ and 52″. The 48″ and 52″ are 36″ high, and the 40″ is made 36″ or 24″ high. There is a cover slab to fit each size.
What is the difference between a well ring and a soakage ring?
A well ring has a solid wall and lines a drinking-water well. A soakage ring has rows of holes through the wall so waste water can drain into the ground. It is used for soakage pits, usually next to a septic tank.
Why are the holes cast in and not drilled?
Drilling through a finished ring can crack the concrete around the hole. Our holes are formed by pins in the steel mould as the ring is cast, so the wall around them stays sound.
Can you build the whole septic tank and soakage pit?
Yes. We cast the rings, dig the site, place the rings with our crane, fit the pipes and cover slabs, and fill the ground back in. If you have your own builder, we can supply the rings only.
How many soakage rings do I need?
That depends on how many people use the building and on the ground at your site. Send us a photo of the site on WhatsApp and tell us what it is for, and we will advise.
What is the price of a soakage ring?
It depends on the size, how many you need and how far they are going. Send us the sizes, the number and the town on WhatsApp, and we will reply with a price that includes delivery.
Do you deliver outside Embilipitiya?
Yes, anywhere in Sri Lanka, on our own lorry. Tell us the town when you ask for a price, and the price will include delivery.
